WHAT IS TRAILWALKER?
Trailwalker is a global phenomenon and the ultimate team challenge.
Form a team of four and walk 100km in 48 hours to make a big difference in someone’s life.
You must start the challenge together and you must finish it together. Come forward and ‘Walk for Equality’. It is mandatory for each team to raise a minimum amount before starting the event and those funds are used by Oxfam India to reduce inequality.
All one needs to participate is:
• A team of 4 and the grit to walk 100km within 48 hours or 50km in 24 hours.
• To qualify, a team must raise a minimum of Rs 1 Lakh (Rs 20,000 as Joining Contribution + Rs 80,000 via fundraising /crowd funding) as contribution to Oxfam India’s work on the ground in the six poorest states of India.
Funds raised for Oxfam India are eligible for 50% Tax benefit under section 80G of the Indian Income Tax Act 1961.
Oxfam Trailwalker in India
The first Oxfam Trailwalker India was held in Bengaluru in February 2012. It has been followed by six more editions with a steady increase in participation every year. A record number of teams - 339 - participated in Bengaluru Trailwalker 2018.
The next Bengaluru Trailwalker will be held from 18-20 January 2019. Participants can choose from the 100km/48 hours or the 50km/24 hours walks.

After the success of the Bengaluru Trailwalker in 2012, Oxfam India introduced the second Trailwalker in Mumbai in 2013. In 2014, a 50km walk to be completed in 24 hours, was also introduced along with the 100km walk.
This year will witness the sixth edition of the Mumbai Trailwalker from November 23-25, 2018.
