Testing your Fitness

Oxfam Trailwalker is an extraordinary human adventure that will push your limits both mentally and physically.

As a team of four you must walk 100 km in 48 hours or less. It is probably the toughest challenge you will take – but the sense of achievement when you cross the finish line is immense. It is a life-changing experience.

The history

The Trailwalker was started in 1981 as a teamwork test of endurance and determination by the legendary Queen’s Gurkhas Signal Regiment in Hong Kong.

In 1986, Oxfam Hong Kong was invited to co-organise the event and it was opened up to the public. After the withdrawal of the Gurkhas from Hong Kong in 1997, Oxfam Hong Kong took over the event there. The Gurkhas continue however to participate in and co-organise the event in the southern UK and their teams have never been beaten.
